National Network to End Domestic Violence

In 2016, the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) received a FVPSA grant to serve as the national TA provider to FVPSA state administrators.  This expanded the work the Coalition Technical Assistance team had done for years with state and territory coalitions.  To reflect the expanded role, the team was renamed as the Capacity Technical Assistance (CTA) team. These FVPSA funds allowed NNEDV to develop and strengthen critical relationships with other DVRN members and the tribal communities.

During the past 3 years, NNEDV has increased its own capacity to serve the tribal communities and to provide guidance to state domestic violence coalitions and local programs on engagement and outreach, thanks to the relationship we have built with the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center (NIWRC) and the Alliance of Tribal Coalitions to End Violence (ATCEV).  We have worked hard and will continue to create opportunities for state, territory and tribal coalitions to meet and work together ensuring that native survivors are served in a culturally respectful manner.

NNEDV is pleased to have the opportunity to provide TA and training the state administrators on a variety of topics, including but not limited to, monitoring, accessibility, confidentiality, databases, disaster planning, response and recovery. Additionally, the CTA team has created an onboarding process for new state administrators with the goal of helping them learn their new role and connect with the coalition to improve services for survivors.

After 35 years of progress with FVSPA, we look forward to continuing our work with state administrators, coalitions and tribal communities to collectively end violence in all communities.
